About two years ago I had a dream that I was working at an orphanage...it was really nice and it was all set in one room lined with beds. I got all the kids up and ready for school and handed them their lunches and saw them out the door. After they were gone I began making all the beds and one by one praying for them and their different situations. I was getting ready to go buy groceries for all these kids and then prepare food for them all. I will never forget this dream and I remember being disappointed when I woke up. I can't shake this- I have so much love and concern for orphans but have never been to an orphanage or had much experience with any of it. I've fallen in love with so many kids in the Dominican Republic...I just don't know what to do with the desire. What can you do with 2 kids, where is it safe to take them and where is it not. Some days I feel like selling everything and going...but where do you go?
I began by looking up orphanages in the US.....I also pray. Who knows. It could just lead to tithing with different intentions, it could lead to loving my kids more and praying for others, or it could get crazy. I guess I'm just using this to sort out my feelings (I really only know one person who reads this and I've talked to her about it already anyways :) hi kristi!)
That's all for now, just a brain full of confusion :P

A peek of honesty
Lately I've been on a roller-coaster when it comes to attitude. I go from having the attitude of feeling stuck in the house doing nothing but wiping butts and noses to an attutide where I feel as though I'm the luckiest girl in the world with two beautiful daughters and a wonderful husband. I go from feeling as though everything lies on my shoulders. Laundry, cooking & cleaning seem like they are constantly glaring at me sticking out silly little tongues because I can't catch them. When I get the kitchen cleaned up from a meal and both girls are bathed I feel as though I've conquered Mount Everest, standing on top admiring the world below. No matter what the day has held, there is no middle ground when it comes to attitude.
As I sit in the rare silence of our living room, hearing nothing but tiny sqeaks from a sleeping baby, I'm on Mt. Everest. God has been so good to our family. Somedays it's easier to dwell on the unfairness of 2 kids , 2 heart defects, 10 doctors appointments in one month, broken bones, and sleepless nights. But today I'm dwelling on two beautiful girls, 2 beating hearts, doctors who know how to heal, and a fireplace that runs on little gas :)
Raising a mug of homemade hot chocolate to the snow falling outside, it's beautiful.

Catchin up
It's been a lot longer than I'd planned since I've blogged...for some reason this was one of only a few websites my computer refused to load. However now my laptop is fixed and I can blog again :)
It's been crazy since...Symira has entered our family and sleep has been staying at someone else's house. She is a good baby, I really shouldn't complain...she just likes to eat and poop at night, for some reason, much more than she does during the day.
Tonight Derrick is filling in holes in our walls- the previous owners hung pictures with huge screws, leaving very lovely holes in about everywall, driving people like my husband nuts. This leaves Ryse following him everywhere he goes, Symira sleeping, and me watching Jeporady and ignoring everything else that needs done. I'm thankful for a husband who recognizes how much energy being a mom takes and doesn't even comment when I'm being a lazy rump.
Cutting this very short due to bedtime and someone who found this laptop very interesting :)
